Is Eddie Murphy's career on a slow decline?

For someone who is a HUGE big-time, very very rich and famous movie star, whose movies have made over $3 billion, my longtime idol Eddie Murphy sure seems like he prefers to keep a very very low profile these days. WHY??? He's still a very talented bankable star. Is his career going through a long slump? Back in the 1980s, Eddie used to appear on lots of award shows and talk shows, and on magazine covers. NOW, at the YOUNG age of ONLY 50 years old, Eddie Murphy is not in the spotlight as much as he used to be. He doesn't promote his movies, very very rarely ever appears on any talk shows, and even no longer laughs the way he used to. Some people have said Eddie Murphy is not funny anymore, but I disagree. I think he's still got it, and will always have IT, until he actually retires from show business.
