I am looking for advice about joining DST or AKA or SGRho.?

Since I realized I was college bound I have always imagine becoming a member of DST. I am not the type of person to wish to join an organization because of entertainment purpose (i.e. stepping at parties and etc.) However, I admire their underlining purpose of true long-lasting sisterhood (being that I am the only child) and service to the community. Unfortunately, my university has an inactivate chapter of DST. There has been rumors that they will be active in the future but that rumor is about three years old and I am reaching my last years as an undergrad. I have been told that if I really want to join DST I could look into it after I get my bachelor degree. However, my true question lies in the fact that I would like to join one of these sororities and get the full benefits of sisterhood and opportunity to bond and do community service as oppose not being able to have that experience as an undergrad. I am the first in my family to attend college and I admire DST because the way I see older DST members carry themselves and the strong bond they have even after college. As it is probate session I have been thinking about this matter night and day and would appreciate your advice and what you would consider if you were in my situation.
